Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram Will Go To Tihar Jail, Court Orders Judicial Custody

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram has been sentenced to judicial custody for 14 days by a special court in the INX Media case.

According to a report by News18, he will be sent to Tihar Jail till 19th September.

He was produced in the court today after 14 days of CBI custody.

The court has allowed him to carry his medicines to jail and has also directed that Chidambaram be kept in a separate cell in the jail.

The arrest has been made in the INX Media case that dates back to 2007 when P Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister.

It has been alleged that during his tenure FIPB granted clearance to the media group for receiving overseas funds of ₹305 crore.
