Amid the ongoing protests over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Padmavati, a body has been found hanging in Jaipur’s Nahargarh fort with threat slogans written on nearby rocks.

The slogans on one of the stones read ‘Padmavati ka virodh (Opposing Padmavati), while another on another it was written ‘Hum putle nahi jalate, latkate hain’ (we don’t burn effigies, we kill).

Police have launched an investigation and it is yet to ascertain whether it was a murder or a suicide. The identity of the victim is also unknown as of now, reports News 18.

The film Padmavati based on Rajput queen Padmini, Maharawal Ratan Singh and Allauddin Khilji has been facing the ire of Rajput groups because of its alleged incorrect portrayal of historical events. Shri Rajput Karni Sena which has been spearheading the protests has however, denied any involvement in the Nahargarh fort’s incident.
