The 15th of August saw a lot of celebration, of joy, of expressions of pride in the country. Several celebrities joined in the good times too, among them Priyanka Chopra, who put up this little boomerang on Instagram.
It’s an innocent little video that proclaims her love for her home country while wearing a dupatta with the national colours on it. However, comments soon started coming in stating that she was disrespecting the national flag by doing this.
Seeing as she wasn’t actually wearing the flag but just the national colours on it, others came out in her support.
Who would have thought something as innocuous as celebrating Independence Day would become so complicated?
