Man Finds Gown-Clad Thief Is His Wife’s Lover. This Pune Case Is The Weirdest Ever

In a rather filmy and dramatic fashion, a man in Pune was shocked to discover that the lover of his wife is his former close friend.

The affair which was going on for seven years, was disclosed only on Wednesday when the 44-year-old Rajesh Ghisulal Mehta was caught trying to drug his sleeping friend with a rag soaked in chloroform, reported Times Of India.

The husband who is a utensils trader stays in a bungalow along with his wife and two children. As he was close friends with Mehta, the latter often used to visit his home to meet him.

Over the years, Mehta began to disguise himself in a woman’s nightgown and dupatta to hide his identity from neighbours and visit his lady love whenever her husband was out of town. On other occasions, he used to sneak inside the house and made the husband unconscious with a sedative.

However, on Wednesday, the foolproof plan failed when the husband woke up mid-nap and was alarmed to find a masked person trying to drug him. Taking him to be a robber, he tried to resist his advances and soon they entered into a scuffle. Frightened that he had been discovered, he escaped threatening him and left behind both his mask and the rag.

The husband lodged a complaint at Khadak police station three days after the incident.

Mehta has now been booked under sections 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
