Mob In Delhi Ties A Ragpicker To Pole, Brutally Beats Him To Death For Stealing A Cart

In an extremely shocking incident, a ragpicker was lynched by a mob for allegedly stealing a pull cart. The incident happened in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on September 11.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, 35-year-old Mehboob was caught for allegedly stealing a cart. He was tied to a pole and beaten by a mob. A day later, his dead body was found outside a parking lot of Kushal cinema which is metres away from where he was tied.

His wife Sahiba who is a mother of three has said that people took photographs and recorded videos when her husband was getting mercilessly thrashed. She has also alleged that police registered a case of death by negligence instead of murder.

Delhi Police has maintained that they have taken corrective action. However, no arrests have been made so far.
