Badrinath Highway Closed After Massive Cloudburst Ravages Uttarakhand’s Chamoli

A cloudburst in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Sunday morning led to massive destruction resulting in widespread chaos over the region.

No loss of life has been reported so far but several houses were submerged and many vehicles were washed away. 

Following the chaos, Badrinath Highway (NH-58) has been closed and efforts are on to resume the traffic.

The affected families have been shifted to a safer places and rescue operation are still on. But heavy rains continue to hinder the rescue efforts.

Meanwhile, the weather department has also sounded a rain alert in various parts of the state.
