20 R.K. Laxman Cartoons That Mirrored India’s Reality While Also Making Us Laugh

Today I found out that it happens to be World Cartoonist Day, something that I wish I knew earlier because cartoons are cool. In fact, we celebrate this day to mark the publishing of the first ever colour cartoon, The Yellow Kid, in 1895. The one name that comes to mind when you think of India and cartoonists is obviously the late great R.K. Laxman, and what better way to celebrate this colourful occasion than by going through some of his famously witty ditties!

Check them out!

The cartoonist for the common man indeed!
