Rs13 Crore Recovered From Raid On Law Firm In Delhi Including 2.5 Crore In New Notes

Delhi Police on Saturday, along with the Income Tax officials, raided the office of a law firm in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash-I area and recovered over Rs. 13 crore in cash, of which Rs. 2.5 crore was in new currency notes.

The raid was carried out by the Crime Branch at the office of T&T Law Firm, a senior police officer told PTI.

“Rs 13.56 crore was recovered. Out of which, Rs 2.5 crore was in new currency notes and the rest in old notes. The I-T department has been informed,” the officer said, according to a report in NDTV. 

According to a report in Asian Age, the police raided the GK-II office after receiving a tip off. Upon reaching the office, they found that the rooms locked and a caretaker present. More raids would be conducted in this regard, police confirmed. 

The tax department had earlier raided the premises of  Rohit Tandon, the firm’s promoter,  about 2 months ago.

Documents related to Rs 19 crore in unaccounted money, which had been kept as fixed deposit in a bank, had been recovered at the the time.
