Badminton star Saina Nehwal will be donating Rs 2 lakh for the people affected by heavy rains and flood in Tamil Nadu, her father said on Friday.
“Saina would like to donate Rs two lakh to the victims of rains in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. I am going to make it happen,” Saina’s father Harvir Singh told PTI here. Saina, currently ranked number two in BWF world rankings, is training under renowned coach Vimal Kumar in Bangalore.
Celebrities have been doing their bit to help those worst affected by the floods. Apart from actor Siddharth , who has been actively helping, others have also done their bit.
Actor Rajinikanth had donated Rs 10 lakh for the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Another group of Tamil actors like Suriya, Karthi, Vishal, Dhanush have also donated funds for flood relief. Tollywood star Allu Arjun pledged Rs 25 lakh while others stars like Junior NTR and Mahesh Babu donated Rs 10 lakh each. Kalyanram also announced a donation of Rs 5 lakh to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Relief Fund while Ravi Teja said he would be contributing Rs 5 lakh.
