Salman Khan Announces Rs1 Lakh Award To All Of India’s Rio Olympians

While his appointment as India’s goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics created controversy, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has decided to extend his support to the Indian contingent. Impressed by the performances of the athletes from India, Salman has now announced a reward of Rs 1,01,000 to every sportsperson who represented India at the Olympics.

A record contingent of 121 athletes, including 54 women, are representing India at the ongoing Rio Olympics despite none of them being able to win any medal so far.

The announcement comes days after Yashraj Films which produced his blockbuster film Sultan promised to honour Indian athletes who win gold at the Rio Olympics with Rs 10 lakhs each.
