Saudi King Takes 460-Tonne Luggage For His Foreign Vacay While We Worry About Excess Baggage

Grace Bains

Worried about how much to pack for your next foreign trip? Take a chill pill.

Because no matter how much you pack, you can’t possibly compete with the extravagance of the Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz.

He’s on a nine-day visit to Indonesia and he arrived with a rather heavy luggage for the amount of days he is traveling. If we have to be exact, 460 metric tonnes or 4,17,305 kilograms! In case you’re still wondering how heavy that could get, let’s just say it all weighs a little more than three blue whales put together.

South China Morning Post

Trying to get that pair of shoes to fit in the prescribed weight doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?

Now to be fair, you don’t expect the royal to travel without his Merc, do you? He is carrying two of his Mercedes Limousines and two electric lifts!

The Jakarta Post

It has been reported that it will take about 572 workers just to sort out all the luggage that the King is carrying with himself.

NDTV

The King is travelling with a huge entourage made up of 1,500 people, including 10 ministers, 25 princes and at least 100 security personnel. Coming from a country known for its grandiosity, it shouldn’t even surprise us.

The Jakarta Post

The King only knows how to travel grand!
