Seven-Time F1 Champion Michael Schumacher’s Son Mick To Race In Chennai This Weekend

Formula One great Michael Schumacher set tracks on fire around the world as he raced his way to seven championships in his career. And now his son Mick is all set to continue his father’s legacy on a race track in Chennai.

The 16 year old will make his debut at the final round of the MRF Challenge at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai this weekend, which comes after three rounds in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Dubai, NDTV reports. It is led by Pietro Fittipaldi, who is the grandson of two time F1 champ, Emerson Fittipaldi.

Mick will be joined by Guiliano Alesi, son of another F1 driver Jean Alesi, who will be driving an MRF F2000 car in his first race outside Europe. The winner in the challenge will get a prize money of Rs 64 lakh, as per motorsport.com.

Mick’s father Michael Schumacher is still in a coma after he suffered injuries in a skiing accident in 2013. After spending months in hospital, he has now been moved home.
