Shashi Tharoor’s Word Of The Day- ‘Zugzwang’ Perfectly Sums Up The Political Confusion In Maharashtra

Smrutisnat Jena

Shashi Tharoor has come up with a new word to perfectly describe the political situation in Maharashtra.

NDTV

The word, Zugzwang as described by Tharoor means, ‘a situation in chess & other games where a player is compelled to move, forcing him into a weaker position.’

Much like a good dictionary, he also uses it in a sentence to explain it better to his followers.

A player is said to be ‘in zugzwang’ when any possible move will worsen their position. In game theory, changes a win to a loss.

And like always this garnered quite some attention on social media.

Well, right or wrong, Mr Tharoor has never been short on words, has he?
