The wait is finally over. Stanilas Wawrinka is the unbeaten winner of Roland-Garros French Open 2015. The rank eight from Switzerland had a swashbuckling 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 victory over world number one Novak Djokovic in a breathtaking final on Sunday, June 7.
“I played the match of my life, it’s hard to believe. Playing against Novak was one of the biggest challenges. I know how much he wanted this Roland Garros,” Wawrinka said court-side.
Tennis fans across the globe are stunned as the world favourite Djokovic had remained unbeaten throughout the season. Nevertheless, Wawrinka is the new blue eyed boy of tennis who has taken the world by storm by winning over Djokovic.
