More Couples Are Meeting Online Now Than Through Friends & Relatives, Says Study

Can you recall the times when you went to a party or went to your friend’s cousin’s shaadi just so your mutual friend could make you meet cute strangers? Well.. turns out nobody does.

Even though our parents will never get it, a new study revealed by Stanford University revealed that people are meeting new partners way more through online apps rather than their mutual friends.

For heterosexual couples in the US, meeting online has become the most popular way couples meet, eclipsing meeting through friends for the first time around 2013. 

The research revealed that these online apps have replaced the roles of families and friends to bring couple together.

This made Twitter react differently. While some thought this was a known fact, others had a mixed reaction. 

So with people being in charge of their own relationships and preferences, it is safe to say bye-bye to all those rishta aunties.
