Tamil Folk Artiste Arrested For Writing A Song On Alcohol Prohibition Criticising Jayalalitha Govt

A Tamil folk artiste has been arrested by Tamil Nadu police on charges of sedition against Chief Minister Jayalalitha.Folk artist and activist Kovan had recently released a song claiming the whole of Tamil Nadu is under the influence of alcohol and that “Poes.”‘Poes’ being a reference to the residence of TN CM Jayalalithaa at Poes Garden in Chennai.Members of the MKIK said that officers of the Chennai police arrived at folk singer and MKIK member Kovan’s house at Oraiyur in Trichy at 2 am on October 30 and detained him.
