A teenaged boy died after he was allegedly hit on his chest by another boy in Jorabagan area of northern Kolkata on Thursday, police said.
The incident happened around 2 PM when Mayank Surekha, a class IX student of Gyan Bharati School, collapsed after he was punched on his chest by a fellow student when they both had gone to private tuition.
Mayank was declared brought dead when he was taken to a nearby nursing home, police said.
The student, who allegedly hit Mayank has been taken into custody.
