The government is expanding the use of Hindi in governance and politics. 

On March 31, President Pranab Mukherjee accepted a number of recommendations made by the Parliamentary Committee on Official Languages in a 2011 report, including one that requires all dignitaries – the president too – to give speeches in Hindi alone. All in all, he accepted some 117 recommendation, many of which give Hindi a big boost.
