A Noida-based engineering student has scored the perfect score in the Management Aptitude Test (MAT), the results of which were declared recently.

Ankit Kumar, 23, has scored 800 out of 800. MAT is a national-level online exam conducted four times a year by All India Management Association (AIMA), for seats in top MBA colleges of the country.

The entrance test was conducted on February 13, and results were declared on February 23.

Ankit is a final semester student of five-year B.Tech-M.Tech course in mechanical engineering at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida.

Ankt told The Times of India that this was his first attempt at MAT, even as he had appeared for CAT last year but wasn’t satisfied with the results.

He told the paper that while he is getting calls from a number of management institutions, he is looking to pursue management with specialisation in finance and operation. He has bet on Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies and Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education.

Ankit studied at New Green Field School, Saket, and scored 85.2% and 87.0% respectively in Class 10 and 12. His father is a producer at the electronic media production centre at IGNOU, Delhi, while his mother is a homemaker.

It’s not the first time that someone has scored a perfect in the test, but it’s certainly rare.

In 2015, Shalu Munka, 21, a student of Birla Institute of Technology in Ranchi too had achieved the feat.
