A German citizen, who deliberately put his luxurious Tesla Model S car at risk to prevent an accident, has earned the praise of Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk for his act, a CNN report says.

41-year-old Manfred Kick was driving his Tesla Model S down the Autobahn near Munich on Monday when he noticed that Volkswagen Passat ahead of him was out of control. On taking a closer look, he found the driver slumped over the steering wheel.

Realizing the driver needed urgent help, Kick overtook the car and pulled in front of the swerving car.

Despite the damage to his car, Kick finally managed to bring the car to halt, a report in Miami Herald says.

According to German newspaper Muencher Merkur, police and fire officials took the driver to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a possible stroke and internal injuries.

Two days after the incident was reported, Kick received appreciation from none other than Tesla CEO Elon Musk who assured him that all the repairs of his cars will be expedited and will be done free of charge:

A report in the Fortune said the unconscious driver is now doing fine and is recovering. The report also estimated that the total damage to both cars was slightly more than $10,500.
