This Girl’s Reply To An Insensitive Post About #ChennaiFloods Is Fittingly Brilliant

The floods in Chennai saw support pouring in all corners of India and ordinary citizens came together to help each other in a rare display of human spirit. But amidst this positive environment, social media also saw some insensitive posts which did little to help.

In a display of ignorance, a Facebook user Ashish Chaudhary posted, “I don’t mind if Tamil people die, they never considered themselves as Indians, and then I ask myself, the land who do not accept our national language as their own language and prefer British English more in conversation to native Indians are asking for help from Hindi language people”.

This sparked off outrage on social media, but a reply by a girl named Anusha Natarajan was the most fitting response to the insensitive rant.

She wrote how apart from Hindi, India has many other recognised languages and reminded Mr. Chaudhary about a few historical facts. She also pointed out the irony of a person accusing others of embracing English, himself writing a Facebook post in English.

Meanwhile #AshishChaudhary is doing the rounds on social media, as people are heavily criticising his actions.
