This Saudi Grand Mufti Says Men Can Eat Their Wives If They Are Really, Really Hungry

A cleric in Saudi Arabia has come up with a fatwa saying that ‘Men can eat their wives if they are suffering severe hunger.’

According to Mirror , Saudi Arabian grand mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah allegedly issued the guidelines to allow a husband to eat his wife’s body parts in extreme circumstances. The cleric’s ruling is reported to have said the ruling represents the ‘sacrifice of women and obedience to her husband’.

He has interpreted the fatwa as evidence of the sacrifice of women and obedience to her husband and her desire for the two to become one.

The announcement has sparked outrage and major concerns in the country where the women are already meted out a poor treatment.

The controversial fatwa is nothing new for this cleric. Earlier has has sparked a major controversy when he had called on all churches to be destroyed under Islamic law.

This latest declaration is yet to appear on his official website and no confirmation of its legitimacy has been made.
