Security forces on Saturday killed the third terrorist, who had taken refuge inside a cave on a hillock, after a fierce encounter in the Satora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral district.

Police have recovered the body of one of the terrorists and another militant is supposedly holed up in the cave. Some arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the site, ANI reported.

Earlier reports stated that that two terrorists had been killed previously by forces. On Saturday, Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, SP Vaid said that they are unaware which outfit the accused belong to, but suspect that it could be Jaish-e-Mohammed.

“The encounter is still on. There was an input about a couple of militants in that area. The exact outfit is not known but most probably they are foreign militants. It must be Jaish-e-Mohammed,” Vaid told ANI.
