Twitter Explodes With Strong Reactions After Supreme Court Strikes Down Triple Talaq

India on Tuesday woke up to Supreme Court’s decision of striking down the controversial Triple Talaq practice until a new legislation is framed.

“This is a sensitive case where sentiments are involved. We are directing the Union of India to consider appropriate legislation in this regard,” Justice J.S. Khehar said while announcing a six-month suspension on the practice of the divorce law.

However, it did not take long for Twitter to break into utter chaos as soon as the verdict was announced as many assumed that the SC has issued a permanent ban on the practice. Slowly, clarity dawned as it emerged that the Supreme Court held Triple Talaq unconstitutional and struck it down by 3:2 majority.
