The Unnao rape survivor who is currently admitted at Lucknow’s King George’s Medical University has contracted pneumonia, hospital authorities said in a press release on Saturday.
According to NDTV, her condition is still critical but she is stable at the moment. Blood pressure medicines are being administered to prevent any further deterioration in health.
The 19-year-old who has accused expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Sengar of raping her in 2017, was travelling with her advocate and her aunts on July 28, when their car was hit by a speeding truck in UP’s Rae Bareli.
The survivor’s family has meanwhile, alleged that the ‘accident’ was a ‘plot to eliminate’ her. According to reports, none of the security personnel who were supposed to be guarding the woman had accompanied her on the trip.
According to an FIR filed by the survivor’s uncle, the police personnel kept on her security detail had kept Kuldeep Sengar informed about her travel plan.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath has appealed to the survivor and her family to relocate to Madhya Pradesh.
