UP Traffic Cop Loses Both Legs After Getting Hit By Truck In Noida

In a tragic incident, an Uttar Pradesh traffic police head constable lost both his legs after being hit by a truck. 

The accident happened on Sunday on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway when the 50-year-old Chitti Singh’s motorcycle got hit by a truck while he was on the way to the SSP office in Sector 14, reported Times Of India

Singh is currently admitted at the ICU of Kailash Hospital, Sector 27. Both his legs have been amputated and his condition is still said to be critical. The driver of the truck, Shrikesh Patel has been arrested.

The accident comes a day after Noida traffic police launched a month-long drive against commuters who indulge in 11 different violations after a direction from the Director General of Police (DGP). 

Incidentally, Uttar Pradesh tops the state with the maximum number of accidental deaths.
