Veteran Actor Tom Alter Diagnosed With Cancer, Admitted To Mumbai Hospital

Popular film and theater actor Tom Alter has been diagnosed with fourth stage bone cancer. According to a report by Indian Express, the veteran actor’s illness has been confirmed by his son Jamie Alter. 

“It’s not a good time to talk. I will call you in the evening,” Jamie was quoted as saying by the publication.

The 67-year old actor was only recently discharged from a Mumbai hospital but has been admitted again for treatment. He had previously complained of “body pain”. 

Playwright Sayeed Alam, also confirmed the news to Huffpost. “We are all praying for his recovery and I am sure he will recover,” he said. Alam has collaborated with Alter on several plays. 

Recipient of the Padma Shri award, Tom Alter is popularly known for his work in television series like Hatim, Zabaan Sambhalke and movie like Veer-Zara and Shatranj ke Khilaadi.
