Watch: Brave Sikh Man Uses Chappal To Fight Off Gun-Wielding Robber In New York

A 58-year-old Sikh man fought off a shotgun-wielding robber in as unconventional a manner as possible. The incident took place on December 15 in a store near a petrol station in Staatsburg, about 150 km from New York City and the CCTV footage that has emerged is pretty telling.

The masked robber demanded money from the owner of the shop, Amrik Singh. In response the brave Sikh man threw his slippers at the robber and managed to scare him. The robber even fired a shot at Singh’s feet, but it missed and hit the ground. Finally he was forced to drive away from the scene despite holding a shotgun.

Singh, immigrated to the US from Doburji in Punjab’s Moga district 35 years ago.
