Watch: Derek O’Brein Says As A Father I Would Have ‘Shot’ The Nirbhaya Rapist

The debate over the Juvenile Law, proposing to try juveniles accused of heinous crimes as adults, is underway in the Rajya Sabha. The parents of Nirbhaya were also present in the visitors gallery and as the debate raged Derek O’Brein said that as a father he would have “shot the rapist”.

He said, “Had it been my daughter, god forbid, what would I do? Had I trusted the laws of the country or hire the best lawyers or taken out a gun and shot him? I would have taken out a gun and shot him. So it is an emotional matter.”
