Watch: JNU’s Shehla Rashid Appeals For Peace If Umar Khalid, 4 Others Are Arrested

After the five JNU students who had gone missing returned to the campus on Sunday night, the students’ union vice president Shehla Rashid made an impassioned speech. She appealed to students to maintain calm and also said that they would keep an all-night vigil with the five students. 

“We know all our friends are not guilty,” she said. She also said they would be with the students to ensure they were able to document their arrest whenever it took place. 

She also appealed for students to maintain peace throughout the entire process.
