Refuting NASA’s claim of finding Vikram Lander on the surface of moon, ISRO chief K Sivan said that the Indian space organisation had found its debris long ago and the updates are there on its website.
An India Today report quoted K Sivan as saying:
Our own orbiter had located Vikram lander. We had already declared that on our website, you can go back and see.
NASA had released the images of Vikram Lander’s impact point on Tuesday, crediting Indian engineer Shanmuga Subramanian for his role in finding where the debris had fallen.
In a tweet, NASA had claimed that ‘Vikram lander has been found by our @NASAMoon mission, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter’.
But ISRO had notified people of finding Vikram Lander way before on September 10.
Vikram lander has been located by the orbiter of Chandrayaan-2, but no communication with it yet. All possible efforts are being made to establish communication with lander.
