Wi-Fi Will Soon Be Passe, Li-Fi Is Almost Here And It’s 100 Times Faster

In the age of high-speed internet, there is always a requirement of a consistent connection. While LAN did the job for the longest time, the world has now moved on to Wi-Fi. It frees you from the desk and gives you the freedom one never thought would be possible.

But soon a super-fast data transmitting technology, Li-Fi is going to make Wi-Fi obsolete. According to reports , the new technology is 100 times faster than conventional Wi-Fi internet communication.

Some researchers from a New Delhi-listed company, Velmenni have announced that a new technology has been developed in Tallinn, Estonia. It could transmit information at a lightning fast speed of one gigabyte per second.

This is a kind of optical wireless communications (OWC), which uses LED lights a medium to deliver high-speed communication.

The company has claimed that a breakthrough in the field of visible light communication (VLC), titled Velmenni Jugnu, will cross Wi-Fi limitations.

It was invented in the year 2011 by Professor Harald Haas, from the University of Edinburgh, who also coined the term, Li-Fi.
