A woman climbed up a 300-feet-mobile tower in Punjab to demand action against her brother-in-law and police officials for allegedly kidnapping her husband as well as raping her.

The incident happened on Sunday in Rorewala village of Sangrur district when the woman climbed a mobile tower and threatened to commit suicide if action wasn’t taken against the accused.

“I married an aged man for the sake of my child. My husband had 4-acre land, but his brother forcefully registered the land in his name and even raped me along with the cops. I appealed to higher police officials, but to no avail,” she told the Hindustan Times.

She also added that her husband was kidnapped and assaulted by her brother-in-law. And when she complained, a false case was registered against her.

The woman was later brought down safely from the tower after police officials convinced her for three hours. She was then admitted to a hospital.

However, her husband’s relatives have alleged that she married him only to grab his land. “The relatives of her husband claim she herself set the harvested wheat on fire to implicate them in a false case,” Dharmveer Singh, Sub-Inspector posted in the Lehra police station told the Tribune.
