A woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at a Delhi Metro station on Thursday morning.
A member of the cleaning department staff at the Kashmere Gate Metro station informed authorities of a woman hanging near a water pipe at the end of platform no 2 at 8:30 am.
They said the unidentified woman, estimated to be around 28-years-old, had allegedly hanged herself using her ‘dupatta’.
According to a Hindustan Times report, no suicide note was recovered from the spot.
Delhi Metro and CISF officials soon reached the spot and a probe in on about how and when the woman committed suicide. The police are scanning the CCTV recording of the station.
Reports said the woman’s body has been kept at a mortuary till her identity is ascertained.
