Woman Raped In Broad Daylight On Footpath In Vizag As Onlookers Didn’t Stop To Help

In a shocking incident, a woman in Visakhapatnam was allegedly raped in full public view even as no one came to her rescue. The incident happened near New Railway Colony on Sunday afternoon when the woman, who was sitting next to a tree on the footpath, was raped by a youth in his early twenties.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the woman was sleeping on the footpath when the accused Ganji Siva, who was in an inebriated condition, forced himself upon her. She was reportedly very weak as she had not eaten for several hours.

The entire incident was captured by an auto-driver who present at the spot. However, no one from the public came to rescue her. In the video, people are seen walking past the woman even when the crime was being committed. The auto-driver later gave the video to the police after which the accused later got arrested, reports NDTV.

The accused, Ganji Siva works as a truck cleaner. He has been booked under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code, reports Times Now.
