Women Shooters Disappoint! Apurvi Chandela, Ayonika Paul Fail To Make It To Final

India’s first medal possible medal event ended in disappointment as shooters Apurvi Chandela and Ayonika Paul failed to qualify for the final of the 10m air rifle event.

Apurvi finished 34th and Ayonika 43rd – sadly, on the top eight go through and fight it out for medals. Ayonika clearly lost composure in the last round, scoring a poor 98, and while Apurvi was there or thereabouts after two series, she couldn’t up her game to match those in the elite group of eight.
