10-Year-Old Dies At UP Wedding After Guest Fires Gun In Celebration

A 10-year-old boy was killed on Monday allegedly in celebratory firing during a wedding function in Gorakhpur.

Shreyansh suffered serious injuries when Dilip Dubey opened fire from an illicit revolver during a wedding reception in Avas Vikas Colony, Kuda Ghat under Cantt police station area, police said.

The child was rushed to the medical college hospital where he succumbed to the injuries, police said, adding that an FIR has been lodged and the accused arrested with .32 bore revolver and empty cartridge. 

Recently, a 22-year-old man was shot  in celebratory firing during a marriage function at a hotel in Moradabad. Rishabh, the bride’s brother, was shot when a group of inebriated people from the groom’s side, on reaching the hotel at around 10:30 PM on Friday, started firing randomly in the air, they said. The victim, a student at Amity University, was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead by doctors, police said.
