Do you recognise who she is?
Our guess is most of you won’t. Well, she is the current Lok Sabha Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan.
She claims she has such a big security threat that she needs a swanky luxury sedan as her official vehicle.
And guess what… she has got it! It’s a white Jaguar XE Portfolio which costs Rs 48.25 lakh, reports Indian Express.
The luxury sedan was reportedly purchased for security reasons.
DK Bhalla, the secretary of Lok Sabha Secretariat, speaking to Indian Express said that there were two options at their disposal, a BMW or a Jaguar, which were suggested to them taking security concerns into account. They went for the Jaguar which was reportedly the cheapest option.
She was previously using a Toyota Camry which is priced around Rs 31 Lakh.
The Speaker is apparently at par with the Chief Justice of India and sixth in line after President, Vice President, Prime Minister, governors, former presidents and Deputy Prime Minister, according to protocol norms.
