BJP MP From Gujarat Falls Into Drain During A Demolition Drive

In freak incident, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker from Gujarat fell into a drain during a demolition drive in her constituency.

The incident happened on Monday in the morning when Poonamben Maadam, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) from Jamanagar constituency, was visiting a slum which was about to be demolished.     

According to a report by NDTV, Maadam was standing on a slab of cement covering a large open drain, nearly 10 feet deep, when the slab caved in. 

She was immediately pulled out and has been hospitalised where she is being treated for head and leg injuries. Two other women who fell along with her are also undergoing treatment.
