Parrikar maintained the harsh stance that India has adopted over Pakistan’s undue involvement in the Kashmir unrest post the military encounter of Hizbul militant Burhan Wani.

Relations between the two nations soured after Pakistan called Burhan Wani a ‘martyr’ and requested the international community to interfere in the Kashmir issue. They also observed a ‘black day’ to honour the death of the militant. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also recently offered medical services to the victims of the violence in Kashmir Valley, especially those injured by the infamous pellet guns.
