Goa’s Art and Culture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar has created uproar after he said that women get so engrossed in TV serials that they forget to take care of their husbands.
“Today, she is so immersed in the TV, the fact that her husband has arrived home and has changed clothes does not matter to her. She is not even in the frame of mind to ask him whether he would like to have a cup of tea or not,” he said at an awards function organised by the state Arts and Culture ministry in Panaji on Wednesday, reports IANS.
He further blamed TV serials for destroying religious festivals and good programmes which are organised in villages as he feels people have stopped caring about them.
While the opposition said it reflects his ‘Khap mentality’, people slammed his outrageous comments on Twitter:
