Jyotiraditya Scindia Says Sonia Gandhi Is A ‘Sherni’ Which Is Why The BJP Is Scared Of Her

On the backfoot in Parliament, the Congress party turned to Jyotiraditya Scindia, who tried his best to defend the party against allegations of corruption in the AgustaWestland case. But all he instead gave us was some pretty weird analogies.

On Wednesday, it was BJP leader Subramanian Swamy while on Friday, it was Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who put the opposition on the mat raising new pertinent questions over the AgustaWestland VVIP chopper scam.

So what did Scindia do? Did he tear into the government’s allegations, giving a detailed point-by-point rebuttal? No.

He instead, indulged in empty rhetoric, played the victim card and made the same points made by Abhishek Manu Singhvi and AK Anthony. And then he claimed that his party’s President Sonia Gandhi was a lioness and that is why the BJP was afraid of her.

“Answer the questions which we are raising,” thundered Scindia.

“But we too have taken an oath that we will break that ‘mayajaal’ (illusion) and place the facts in front of the country and this House,” Scindia said.

Soon afterwards, without responding to the allegations levelled against them by the government, the Congress walked out of Parliament. Not very lion-like.
