Did HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar Say Nehru, Sardar Patel & Bose Were Hanged?

HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar seems to have committed a blooper of epic proportions. The recently appointed Human Resources Development minister reportedly said that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose were hanged.

Just in case your history’s weak, none of these three freedom fighters were hanged.

The minister who is in charge of education in the country was at a public event in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara on Monday when he made the error.

“The struggle for independence which began in 1857, lasted for 90 years and we eventually threw the British out and achieved freedom,” while going on to add “we salute freedom fighters like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Patel, Pandit Nehru, Bhagat Singh and Rajguru who were hanged,” he said.
