In a rather bizarre case, a private school in Uttar Pradesh has allegedly asked its students to get a haircut like their chief minister, Yogi Adityanath.
According to NDTV, Rishabh Academy School in Sardar area of Meerut reportedly asked its students to get a haircut like their chief minister or they may not be allowed to sit for classes.
The circular prompted several parents to protest outside the school on Thursday.
The Times of India reports that the school also placed a prohibition on students sporting beards saying that the school was “not a madrassa” and even opted for a ban on non-vegetarian food and gender segregation.
Ranjeet Jain, secretary, management committee told TOI that when they asked their students to get a Yogi-like haircut, they meant short haircut, the one like in Army so as to ensure a uniformity and an accordance to school discipline.
Furthermore, the management also added that since the school was run by Jains, students are prohibited to bring eggs in their lunch. Surprise checks are there in place to ensure that students follow this rule.
NDTV, however, reports that school denied such allegations.
