I’m sure most of us have wondered about the fact that the person each one of us is going to end up with might be somewhere close to us. What if we’ve crossed paths before? Is it possible that we somehow kind of know them already? It’s definitely going to happen someday.
When will that day come? Nobody really knows.
Well, the big moment arrived 30 years late for Amy Giberson and Justin Pounders who have the most amazing how we met story!
They met on a dating website, Match.com, and hit it off instantly. Soon, they fixed up a first date at a restaurant and by the time the evening was coming to a close, they knew what they had was something truly special.
“Not even halfway through dinner I found myself shivering because I was so excited. I remember telling myself ‘I’m going to be having dinner with this man for the rest of my life,” Amy told Cosmopolitan.
But it wasn’t until much later that the two discovered the most incredible, bizarre connection from the past. And when I say past, I mean way, way back when they were both 3-4 years old.
So, Justin happened to mention the preschool he went to, Sunshine Pre-K, while he was talking about an old scar on his forehead. The funny thing is that a month before that, Justin had also mentioned how he loved Amy’s name because his first ever crush was an Amy too. But unfortunately, that was not to be the big revealing moment.
Anyhow, the moment he said ‘Sunshine Pre-K’ out loud, everything flipped around. Amy realised she was the same ‘Amy’ Justin had talked about. Incredibly, they both went to the same school and were classmates!
To prove the same, Amy’s mother got to work and dug out old albums and there it was! A faded, grainy photo of Justin and Amy sitting right next to each other. Amy shared it on her Instagram page for the world to see.
Looks like even Amy couldn’t believe it! Here’s another sweet post expressing her surprise at the ways of life.
As for Justin, he’s one lucky man. How many of us are lucky enough to have our first love as the last?
The surprises didn’t end there though.
Amy and Justin soon went on a show, The View, to talk about their story last year in November. Towards the end of the talk with the hosts, Justin proposed to Amy in the most adorable way possible. She accepted, and a year later, the childhood sweethearts got married in their hometown with family and old friends, some of them classmates from that special class!
Currently, they’re honeymooning in the Caribbean. As they say, when the beginning is good, everything falls into place somehow.
