Khalid Jamil became a household name in India after guiding Aizawl FC to an unprecedented I-League title in April. And now the Bollywood is gearing up to recognise the achievements of the maverick coach.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, talks are underway to make a movie on the life of Jamil which is likely to be named ‘Zero to Hero’. The announcement was made by Aizawl FC owner Robert Romawia Royte.
According to Royte, veteran actor Ajay Devgn is set to play the role of the football firebrand in the movie.
Jamil took charge of the northeastern club in 2017 after he was sacked as the coach of Mumbai FC. Under his guidance, Aizawl became the first club from north-east to lift India’s top-flight title last month. The coach achieved the success with a shoe-string budget and mostly local players.
