Bhuvneshwar had been looking out of sorts since he suffered an ankle injury during the last Test against Australia in January. To make matters worse, Ashwin was hit by an Umesh Yadav delivery in the nets on Wednesday, February 18th.

The duo will resume national duty against South Africa on Sunday and their return is a massive boost for Team India who have never beaten the Proteas in a World Cup match.
