Barefoot 19-Year-Old Ran 100 Metres In Just 11 Seconds, Sports Minister Promises Him Free Training

In another great instance of the internet doing its actual job, a 19-year-old gets attention from the Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju after a video of him covering 100 meters in 11 seconds goes viral.

The video was originally shared by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who had also tagged Kiren Rijiju, requesting the ministry to extend support.

A prompt reply from the sports minister assured that the boy – Rameshwar Gurjar – will get proper training at an athletics academy.

Rameshwar was not running in a competition but the length of the video suggests that he completed the run in 11 seconds. Which is brilliant, to say the least as the current world record is 9.58 seconds – set by none other than Usain Bolt.

The 19-year-old belongs to a family of farmers in Madhya Pradesh and will hopefully benefit a lot from the help provided by the government.
