If you happen to live on this side of the world, chances are high that you woke up to a thousand tweets about one goal – Messi’s 600th for Barcelona. It doesn’t even matter if you are an ardent football fan. This one was simply unmissable.
Personally, I have seen it about 100 times already and it just keeps getting better.
This was all of us after watching that insane free-kick and that beautiful curve.
Now, while it is going to take us some time to get over this, I thought it would be a good idea to dig a little deeper into the depths of the internet and find some other gems that prove Messi is probably an alien disguised as a human.
1. Let’s start from the start : This was Messi’s first official goal for Barcelona which was technically on the same date as his 600th. With this, life has come full circle for him and for all of us.
2. In the meantime, we have witnessed him in all his glory during free-kicks.
3. And nutmegging like a total boss.
4. For those who saw him play as a child wouldn’t exactly be surprised.
5. As for the rest of us, it’s a privilege to be alive at a time when he is still playing.
6. Look at him taking on 3 players as if a college senior was playing against kids.
7. But the truth is that they are all good, Messi just happens to be unreal.
8. We have seen him doing tricks on the field.
9. We have seen him create magic.
10. We have seen him doing the impossible.
11. We have seen him. Period.
12. Messi is ruthless when he has to be.
13. And simply insane when he decides to be too.
14. The point is, we are privileged and we appreciate it.
