IPL 2015: Player Of The Week – Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is synonymous to Rajasthan Royals’ success and the reason why RR are on the top of the table is because the soft-spoken but hard-working opener is the current holder of the elusive ‘Orange Cap’.

Rahane currently has 231 runs from 5 innings at an average of 57 and a healthy strike-rate of 118. It is his consistency at the top that has been Rajasthan’s biggest weapon.

The 26-year-old was at his best last week helping RR to a 7-wicket win over MI with a cautious 46. He then bettered it with an innings of 62 against SRH and was also instrumental in the win over CSK (55-ball 76*).

Rahane therefore deserves to be named the Player of the Week and for Rajasthan’s sake let’s hope that he keeps winning this tag.
